Prospect Import Flow
Upload external prospect lists and assign them directly to your active campaigns through the Lists feature.
Best for: conference attendees, webinar sign-ups, free trial users, or any external list.
⚠️ Make sure you have at least one campaign ready before importing. → How to set up a campaign.
Import a Prospect List (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: In Lists on the left sidebar, click + Create list.

Step 2: Select CSV file import, then click Next.

Step 3: Enter a list name

Step 4: Prospects can be imported using LinkedIn profile URLs or Prospect and Company names. Choose the method your CSV is formatted for.
For this example, LinkedIn profile URLs are selected.

💡 Heads up: The only fields Samplead needs to process your list are the LinkedIn Profile URL, or alternatively the Prospect Name + Company Name. Any additional columns in your file are not used by the system and won't affect the import.
If you see a "file too large" error, simply delete any extra columns from your spreadsheet before uploading — there's no need to split your list or upload it in batches.
Step 5: Upload the CSV

Step 6: Select the column in your CSV that contains the LinkedIn profile URLs.

Note: If you select "Prospect and Company name", ensure you provide a column that contains the prospect’s full name (first name and last name combined in one cell).
If your CSV currently has first name and last name in separate columns, you can create a full name column by using this formula:
=CONCAT(A2, " ", B2)
Where
-A2 is the first name
-B2 is the last name
-" " adds a space between them
Step 7:
Choose whether to filter your list by ICP.
- Filter by ICP: ON — prospects are validated against your campaign ICP criteria before being created
- Filter by ICP: OFF — Samplead goes directly to Vetric for prospect creation. In this mode, only excluded companies and duplicate prospects are blocked. Other filters (like minimum LinkedIn connections or retired status) will not apply, which means more prospects may be created — including lower-quality ones

⚠️ Important: Filtering by ICP may significantly decrease the number of valid prospects found to target. For best results, we recommend uploading your list without ICP filtering. You or your team can review prospects directly in Suggestions and deny the few that don't fit — this gives you more control and avoids losing good leads during import.
Step 8: Choose how prospects are handled after upload:
- Send to Monitor (for review)
- Auto-approve — with a Custom or Personalized message
Step 9: Assign prospects to one or more campaigns.
Step 10: Review the upload summary — prospects will be labeled New, Existing, Duplicate, or Missing data. Preview only, no edits from this screen.
